We are thrilled to share the amazing recognition Daddy Shark Swim School received at the Swim England National Awards 2024 for our commitment to providing inclusive swimming lessons and vital life skills for babies, toddlers and children of all ages and additional abilities. Our swim school proudly won Silver in the Swim School category, and Neil Ireland, one of our dedicated instructors, earned Silver in the Swim Teacher category. These awards highlight our team’s passion, dedication, and expertise.

Mayor of West Lancashire, Councillor Julian Finch

Our efforts have been recognised both nationally and locally. Mayor of West Lancashire, Councillor Julian Finch, expressed his admiration for our work in a heartfelt letter of support. He praised Daddy Shark Swim School for addressing health inequalities and supporting vulnerable children in our community.

The Mayor’s letter acknowledged the extensive range of services we offer, which include:

  • Swimming lessons for babies, toddlers, children, and adults in Ormskirk and West Lancashire.
  • Specialised lessons for nurseries and schools.
  • Support for children with additional abilities and physical conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Pathological Demand Avoidance, ADHD, Cerebral Palsy, Global Development Delay, Down Syndrome, cancer, Dyspraxia, depression, anxiety, and rare genetic conditions.

Our inclusive programmes ensure every child has access to swimming education. We are especially proud to support children who are not in formal school settings due to complex needs or behavioural challenges. These lessons provide essential life skills and boost confidence.

The Mayor also recognised that local paediatricians and ASD charities often refer families to us. This trust reinforces our vital role in the community and highlights the impact of our work on children and their families.
